    Isn't the whole US vs Soviet Union just a tad dated? I mean the Soviet Union doesn't even exist today let alone in 10 years time....

    no, it's a Grand Strategy Title, like most games published (and developed) by Paradox Interactive.

    It is not outdated. Simply by the fact how much stuff from that period is still classified. And because SR family is a unique set of games. It is great fun, but you need to be patient, in particular if you never played SR. No other game coming even close to SR 2010 or 2020 in terms of complexity. Biggest problem with SR2020 is CPU power. It is Very heavy CPU dependent game. In particular with last Update 7 when AI became much more active. i7 recommended.

    Yes it is GST type of game (with tad of RTS), but it is far from Global Total Warfare. Of course you can do that, but there is much more than permanent carnage. Played many games where I did not fired a single shot. It was equally fun as shelling everything around [Chinese 400mm MLRS Cheesecake!]. :)

    Anyway, looking forward to new expansion. Game needs it, just like it need even more complexity. Bring it on. Har, Har, Har. :D
