Woah, here's a nice grab that just showed up at another site:

    IS this for real?

I love teh viral marketing if it is. Sounds very Valve-y especially considering what they just did with Portal.

well either way, it's a valve hint at _something_
not sure I see duke in that, but I am pretty usre I don't see Dr Kleiner with an Ammo belt there.
On the other hand, the EA logo seems to indicate a possible Duke there.

Where does the EA logo come from? T2 is Take Two who own 2K who are working on DNF which all makes sense, but I can't work out where Electronic Arts come in

I don't want to pre-empt anything, but isn't Take-Two signed up as publisher for Duke Nukem Forever, and has always been so?

Personally, if I was going to guess or wish for anything from Valve's annoucement then it'd be for Prospero - their original project before Half-Life. I very much doubt that Valve could have bought the rights to DNF without anyone saying anything or finding out.

    Here's what MIGHT be:
EA co-publishing with T2, working on the Source engine. Digi distribution via Steam.
    Some such weird collaboration.

Or they're releasing a phone-only Duke based on mobile-Source and mobile-steam, published by EA, but the name belongs to T2... :p

Does anyone really think that, considering EA weren't even able to buy-out Take-Two, that Take-Two would really need a co-publisher for the game they've invested the most money and time in over the last ten years? What would 2K gain from the deal - EA Store?

Doesn't even look all that Duke-ish to me, unless the Duke started wearing huge glasses. My money would be more on Opposing Force 2 or Blue Shift 2, some brand new IP, a new class for TF2 or Prospero.

Rerelease of Duke 3D? Duke 3DHD!? :jawdrop:

Didn't Take-Two buyout all the rights to all Duke Nukem games from 3D Realms?

    Pissed I'm not going.

It's far more likely to be Source Engine 2 than DNF though.
