Scratch Build – In Progress [Windrider] Shiny steel for charity -Finished and given away-

Ouch! Hope you heal well!

 

Corner grinder just slipped and made nice cuts for three fingers in my right hand. Not so bad, some stiches, but it infected quite badly, you know its that time in the year when wounds doesn't heal very well.

Usual after vacation accident when focusing to what you are doing isn't so good what it should.


My intention is still to go Assembly tomorrow, but carrying things isn't so easy atm. I'm not sure will i take any pc with me.

Allthought this case is nearly finished.

I have been waiting for my RMA:d zalman psu for some weeks.
Bored for waiting and decided to use OZC instead it.

Model is 500w stealth extreme and because its not modular i cutted off unnecessary cables and
lenghted mb's P4-connector cable 30cm:




Just cutted off useless connectors and secured ends with epoxy:



Then i did some tests with different fanspeeds and airguides. Used 3dmark05 10 times in loop for stressing and Speedfan to get temperatures:

With "normal" airguides:



Temperatures after stress we're:

Fans min (@5v):

System: 31
Aux: 57
Cpu: 57
HDD: 30
Core1: 67
Core2: 65

Fans max (@12v)

System: 29
Aux: 53
Cpu: 53
HDD: 29
Core1: 60
Core2: 59

Then i guided all incoming air to the cpu-cooler:



And temperatures in min-speed we're:

System: 31
Aux: 55
Cpu: 56
HDD: 28
Core1: 63
Core2: 61

Noticed that there's no big difference in temperatures between min- or max-fanspeed.
It should be work ok in minimal fanspeed when its really silent. It was really pleasant surprice that i can't hear anykind of sound coming from Hdd.

Can't tell the temperatures of the gpu, because there's no sensor but it seems to work fine. Gfx its a little crappy, i'll try to get better somewhere.

Allthought this pc will be given to one 8 year girl who suffers children's rheumatism, thought that she might have some use to it.
Its shame that i'm not so wealthy that it would be possible for me to give away hundreds of euros and buy better components to it, allthought it would be nice

I try to get this finished ASAP.

 

OCZ make some really nice PSUs, you will not be disappointed. I am sure this girl will love this regardless of the components you place inside it.

Little crappy video. Allthought case is "done", the net for the door needs still to be attached. I have been sick, so i had no possibility to use tig-welder, but i'll do it next week.

You are giving a case with points and a big spider to a little girl? The thought is kind, but... Will she even want to go near it?
I hate to hear you got yourself with the grinder that badly. keep both hands on the grinder from now on, OK?
-and make sure your 'man parts' are safely behind a table or something. With your current record, they could be next!

 

You forgot that i'm giving this to a Finnish little girl, those ones doesn't be scared easily, allthought they have to see something like me nearly every day.

I have been little lazy with modding, been sick etc, but main reason might be that i met someone, so modding haven't been my main priority lately.

I'll finish this sooner or later.

Did some changes to power cover:



And dumped that "net" in the main door, i decided that it looks better when its plain.
Case has two different looks depending which direction you're looking it

This is going to be a cable holder for the table. Its unfinished, but i tought i should show something as i have been little silent for a while:

Material is 8mm acid proof steel plate, i drilled some holes with the 32mm drillbit and used dremel for shaping.

Lol, i mentioned that i have moved etc. so i had no time to do modding related things, but that time problem should be fixed now. So i can finish this one and continue with -CarThemedCase-.
