So X-Com 2 was on sale this weekend - no brainer! I know it had a lot of issues at launch, but assumed they might have been fixed by now...

    Apparently not.

For some reason within seconds of just being on the title screen the fan on my 1080 starts to spin up, and not just a little bit, but up to the point where it's completely invasive to my ears (I'm guessing 70-75% ish). I literally haven't even been able to start a campaign yet because I fear the thing is going going to go Chernobyl on me.

I tried Deathwing, Shadow of Mordor and Doom and all ran fine, with the GPU staying well within acceptable noise levels, so luckily it appears to be an issue with the game instead of my card - but would be handy to see if anyone else is having the same issue?

Still a shed load of performance problems with this game unfortunately! I get plenty of problems on my 980 Ti so you're not alone.
