Looking to do some more video editing and my vegas trial has ran out and dont really trust keygens... Sounds to much like key LOG Any alternatives people could suggest?
Do you really need the Pro version? Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 is only £17.99 on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Vegas-Movie-Studio-Platinum/dp/B0051M6I9O
I came across this a while ago http://www.lightworksbeta.com/ I couldn't make much sense of it but I've heard some people praise it.
Il have a look into the benefits of the PRO version over the normal, definetley think I could just use the standard version. Light works looks pretty good may give it a try tonight.
It's quite basic, but Videopad Video Editor is okay for basic editing tasks (had to use it at college to edit down a 30+ minute clip to half a minute). An added bonus is that you can export it in a range of formats (iPod, MPEG 4, AVI and Stereoscopic 3D just to name a few)
If your worried about dodgy files jut run them in a safe environment like sandboxie. Anything it drops into the safe area can be seen and cleared at the click of a button removing any virus's or nasty stuff that decides to plant itself.
Lightworks was used in the production of Pulp Fiction, The King's Speech, Mission Impossible and a few other big movies. It used to be an expensive, paid-for app competing with the likes of Vegas and Final Cut Pro, but they've decided to open-source it and foster a large user-community around it with the hopes of benefiting their professional users through community-driven improvements. The source code isn't released yet (due later this year, I think) but I would consider Lightworks to be reasonably safe. I'm teaching a University module on Multimedia this semester that focused on Final Cut Pro in the past but I'm considering using Lightworks as well to give some variety.
