Assuming that you have the 333fsb model, the 3000+ runs at 2.16ghz~. It seems like your board is running 133mhz fsb (13*133 = 1.7ghz~) instead of the (correct) 166mhz fsb (13*166 = 2.16ghz~). There should be a setting for the FSB in the bios.

TMM is correct the XP3000 does not run at 2600MHz it should be 13.0 X 166 2160MHz
So change the FSB from 133 to 166.

The only AMD Athlon processors that run at 2.6 Ghz are the FX-55 and Ath64-4000.

alright thanks....i'm going to try with the bios. But also I think I have to set on the actual board cause there are jumpers to set the FSB. I think right now it is just on default so i'm going to try that out.

    THANK YOU!!!!!

You shouldn't need to fool with the jumpers, just look in your BIOS.

Some motherboards (such as an ASUS one I've worked with before) require you to set the FSB speed via DIP switches on the motherboard.

Well the mobo's that require fiddling with switches on the actual mobo tend to be older models...

My 3200+ XP needed to have it's FSB upped from 100 to 200MHz when I first installed it. No jumpers needed, just a quick BIOS change.
