Yeah. I couldnt powder coat as i was afraid the materials i used on the case wouldnt stand up to the oven temps.

    I used these paints:

I know exactly what you mean stevehp - been thinking its a bit too big and 'clunky' for the case's minimal look. I will be looking into alternatives. :)

ps thanks for whoever voted and made this a 5 star log for the first time! :D

I applied another 2 coats of paint to the cage today - the last i think. 4 should be enough. Will now leave them to cure and then think about polishing. I wont post pics of the case again though as you have already seen it black! :)

What i did in the mean time though was try out some abrasive liquid i got my hands on. I wanted to try it out on a small component and what better piece than the door release latch. :)

I forgot to take a "before pic" :duh: but here is the result. :D

And resting in the back of the case:

Also dug out the Lian Li fan grill:

Hmm. Still not 100% sure about this one either. I might have to make my own!

The grill surely does fit the theme better, but I agree with the others a custom made grill would be a better choice.

No drooling till it's clearcoated please. :) Thanks for the feedback though!

The theme is black with aluminium on the inside so i think i will sand down the grill and see what that looks like. Maybe adding a thicker circle of metal to surround this. I was planning a similar 'inner' surrounding for the PSU socket.

Hey Cyprio, really nice stuff, lovely work. Might I suggest MNPCTech Round Modder's Mesh for the fan grill, as I think the hole spacing is very similar to that of the aluminium on the case adn it can also be got from coolercases.co.uk now aswell.

Cyp, great work so far. :thumb:

I love the black/alu combo. I'd leave the interiors (and cage) fully black, and the outer shell bare alu.
Maybe you could engrave something on the panel where the old Apple logo used to be. ;)

Keep it up! I'm definitely suscribed.

This is YOUR case, not mine, but I just wanted to say/agree with others that the contrast of the inner mesh part, sorry for the abundance of technical terms, and the side panels and top thingys(there i go again) looks amazing. But, like I said, your case, whatever you do should turn out to be awesome though, because you put the time in for it, really you do.
