    Hi everyone, nice site here!

Heres my Case atm: [sorry for big pics ;)]

Since the CD-RW is stealthed (did it yesterday) im going to stealth the DVD drive.
Then i'll change some of my case fans to blue LED fans. :)
Im also going to make a fanbus in one of my 5 1/2 bays to control the fans
(noisy at 12v!) and i hope to finish it off with some tinted [black] perspex over the drives (inside the door) :thumb: :p

Im hoping to get the fanbus finished today and im going to modify regular IDE cables and put tubing around them :)

Don't expect anything uber expensive as i only get $AUD20 a week pocket money :p (im only 13)

    cheers :hip:

the actual case was a christmas present, but all the other stuff was bought by me :thumb: i got given the old family PC, an 800mhz P3 (my dad bought a P4 for the family)

I bought a new mobo, CPU, RAM, and graphics card have been upgraded, but other than that everything if as it was in the P3, still only got a wimpy 30gig HDD and 24x burner, but thats OK with me :)

anyways im working on a graphic for the side of my monitor. i'll keep ya updated! :hip:

PC specs, nothing special, but im no hardcore gamer :thumb:

    ASUS A7V600
    AMD 1800+xp @ 2ghz and 36oC
    Coolermaster Aero7+ cooler @ 2200rpm
    256mb PC 2100 RAM (Kingston)

aight, today i finished my fan controller :D

the long delay was caused by the WIRE MELTDOWN hehe

its currently testing it but im not totally satisfied with it (fans too slow at low-speed, 5volts)
im going to take some pictures soon, and then i'll try and get 7 volts instead of 5 volts for the low speed option.

    *pics coming soon... :thumb:

and a little video (.WMV in a zip) note how on one switch, i push hard and the whole plate slides up a bit, i still need to secure the whole thing properly, buts its pretty tightly in atm

    i had a LITE-ON cd-rw,

First i had to eject the drive and then turn off the system and take it out. i carefully removed the plate on the end of the tray, allowing me to slide the whole front plate of the drive right off :)

then i unscrewed the metal bottom of the drive. (you WILL void the warrenty, as everything else but yer)

from here i found out where the LEDs pins were, so i found the solder joints on the PCB where the dual colour LED was. i soldered a 3 conductor wire on to it, i put newspaper over the rest of the board when soldering, so i don't damage any of the controller chips under there (they are very fragile and sensitive!)

after i had my three wires soldered to where the existing LED from the drive connected, i ran them to my fan controller, the middle wire being the ground and the two other wires for the + of each of the LEDs. i didn't solder them on first just so i could get the right colours for the right activity :thumb:

funky monkies and cool bananas, thanks heaps for that info! will b used wisely

(i assume they are 3.3V LEDs u used, with no resistors... juz wire straight from the drive pcb to the LEDs legs...)

    skyrex.

yer but the one inside the cd drive seemed pretty standard-ish, and lite-on wouldn't go and put some high-voltage one in :p so i gues it was pretty safe, worst thing that could of happened is that they glow REALLY bright, and i pull the plug on my comp :p

Hey man, nice job on the case there!
I am just getting into the modding side of things, and I was wondering if you could tell me where you buy your parts and stuff? I live in Australia too, so I can get from the same place you do :) If they will post stuff to me :hehe:

    W00T TIME FOR MORE N00B MODDING! :D

ok: i didn't like the look of the of the gold sticker on the side of my PSU, so lets hide it

    BEFORE:

AFTER: hard to see but its a round shape or black plastic with a pice of plexi, the same shape but larger, infront of it, also put an ANTEC badge on it becuase i had nowhere else for it :D
    [IMG] :D

so my Keyboard hey green lights (YUK) so they had to go:

to go with the stealthing i mounted the AERO7 control on the original floppy panel, instead of the brushed silver coolermaster panel, which didn't have the proper screw fit anyway.

Started stealthing the DVD: needs the drive rails cut so it sits back a bit more :thumb:

i experimented with this plexi AMD logo i cut, was too big and couldn't bee seen through the window on the PSU cover thing, so i trashed the following idea: but you can see the logo :p IGNORE THE WHITENESS! IT WAS PVA GLUE!

ok so that sums up my n00bie modding for the moment, more to come soon :naughty:
