Does anyone know if its possible to transfer files beween computers using USB. I know that it can be done with a USB bridge cable, but would it be possible to use normal USB cables and a USB hub? :)

    No, not possible that way.

and you really don't want to.

for about £30-40 quid you can get a very nice Ethernet starter kit which would be MUCH better.

you can also get USB-ethernet adaptors if you MUST use USB, but they're slow (because USB is slow) and expensive
