I go straight to the forum and rarely visit the front page. I check the RSS feed for things that interest me.

Wouldn't of even known the front page was different if it wasn't for this thread.

I think it's a really nice looking and well designed ad. it's relevent and it doesn't pop over anything your actually trying to read, well done :D

BTW I have no intrest in buying the game or even in clicking though the banner but I'm still more than happy to look at it when I visit the main page.

FF obviously just cleared it's cache and I can now see it, I don't really see a problem with it either, if it keeps Bit running without having those nasty green text popup thingies then I'm all for it. Was actually useful as I was very tempted to buy it there and then.

    Cool.

The banner links to an odd place though. It redirects me to a page where it says I should install "EA link" or something or other. Nowhere can I see what it has to do with the game. Bad call on EA's part - when they invest that much money on a campaign, the least they could do is spend some money and talent on the landing page. Suffice it to say I left without installing anything thank you very much, and rather than making me excited about this game it has left me with a bad aftertaste in my mouth.

EA link is like steam, allows you to download the game.

As for the aftertaste, you really shouldn't stick websites in your mouth.

EA link is like steam... But made by EA, so you could compare the likeness in the same way you'd compare a hot girl (who likes to hang around with you, but is nice and quiet in the corner when your busy. Occasionally she might fart or force you to let her go on the internet when all you want to do is play games, but overall, she's quite a nice little ap) against an obese balding man (who sits around using all your stuff and when you try to make him go away he breaks back in through your bedroom window crushing your cat with his massive kankles.)

I'd be perfectly in favour of more ad's like this, this one looks nicely done and it really works well.

Would it work around the review articles etc? I can't think it would be that distracting for them either.

I have to say I quite like the way the ad is displayed. One continuous image that spans the entire page adds a sense of unity to the ad. I think Bit would look rather nice with a generic Bit-Tech image displayed in the same manner, when ads aren't being run.

Not quite sure what you mean by this, you want to do a mock up in paint or photoshop or something?

I must say the guys are pretty pleased with all the positive response. :)

EA link isn't too bad IMO, not great, but not awful.

Didn't you say something like this when the new forum design was introduced as well?

They probably keep him in the cage in the basement floor. (For more details, watch "Pulp Fiction") :D
