Forgeworld Dread arms arrived this morning ( minus the twin lascannon i ordered ) but it included a supplement on upcoming stuff i came....
They do look like beasts. You know those cannons are all going to arrive pointing 7 different directions at once though...
well my 3 Rhino's arrived this morning, all i need now is 3 drop pods, and a razorback to 'complete' my Marine force then i can move on to the Tau / Nids plan to do a group shot at some point... one of each of my armies
I have some old school (circa 2000) Tau lying around if your interested (all unpainted, mostly plastic still on sprues, but some metal). Let me know, and I'll put together a list...
yeah if you could, id be interested to know what stuff people have lying around as most of my stuff is off fleabay and the likes ( im a poor person lol ) also snagged a triplet of storm talons for a little over £15 a pop ( at that price i aint complaining ) they are armed with twin assault cannons and skyhammer missiles to which is a lovely bonus although i feel my Space marines are a little light on anti tank units atm especially if apocalypse is on the cards... maybe a triplet of shadowswords ( or converted Fellblades ) anyone know how the Cerberus heavy tank destroyer looks rules wise ? it looks to be about the biggest ( and cheapest ) heavy tank destroyer i could build build land raider with backwards track modules, add giant double barrelled gun = profit
The Cerberus is a double edged sword. Neutron beam with 'feedback' special rule. Fail to pen, roll a D6. If you roll a 1, auto penetrating hit with -1 to the damage chart result. Sure, you're never going to explode because of it, but it's hardly a 'bonus' point for it. Also rear armour 13, despite being on the Spartan chassis. Exploding seems to be bad too, apocalyptic explosion is 9" of strength 10 AP1, and 2D6 on top of that get a strength 3 AP- hit.
Are they painted or unpainted? What you got? Really shouldn't be spending more but I can't help myself, at least I've sold all my Ultramarines and Chaos.
im just looking for something i can buy cheaply ( or convert cheaply ) that can upset titans / Stompa's Superheavys and the like prefer a tank ( as im abit of a treadhead ) although id grab a knight titan if it holds its own on the battlefield.
Honestly, I think melta bomb equipped small groups are best for super heavy hunting. I've seen super heavies felled by melta more than any other weapon, with thunderhammers a close second. If only because I used to use Vanguard Vets being 'bombed' out of a Thunderhawk with TH/SS over enemy super heavies. Assault on arrival, ~30 str8 attacks on rear armour? Did the job fantastically. The problem you'll find with titans is their void sheilds - You need to drop those before you get anywhere close to damaging them. Given their relatively weak rear and side armour, you'd be best using fast moving vehicles transporting thing that can carry melta bombs and melta weapons. Okay, with the abundance of armoured ceremite in 30k you're shafted for killing Typhon/Cerberus/Fellblade/Glaive/Falchion quickly without melta bombs (Armourbane USR, not melta!). Or spartans for that matter. But with most of them having Flare Shield, you'll want to get behind them anyway.
I'm with Lira, The Cerberus looks the ****, but because it looks the biz it then becomes a huge bullet magnet, and once it pops, which it will because it's a bullet magnet, that's your main [possibly only] big game hunter gone...
havent got any vanguard Vets, just 2 plain squads of 5 assault marines backed up with a jump chaplain, and 2 squads of 10 assault marines without jetpacks i was planning to stuff into drop pods along with a pair of Dreadnoughts ( but again im abit light on anti-armour tools
Spreading Meltabombs and the odd powerfist/TH thoughout your assault squads is probably the way i'd go [though without know the rest of the army it's hard to say]... I tend to find relying on a single unit for Anti-air Anti-Tank or Anti Big Game duties tends to backfire more often than not... specialised squads tend to be priority targets for your [or at least my] opponents... That said generalising too much can result in lots of wasted firepower as you're tying up an entire squad to use 1 or 2 weapons...
From memory Unpainted. Some are built, some need rebuilding as they didn't survive the move too well, some are brand new boxed. There's a Half painted monolith 2 arcs unbuilt 20x Warriors 5x Lychguard 5x deathmarks (convertions) A spyder (new in box) Lots of scarabs A lord Command barge (in box) And loads of spares & some conversions (mainly royal court)
well after some re-building and ( more ) ebay stuffs ) im in need of some Rhino Top hatches ( about 3 sets ) so if anyone has any ( lira ) could you let me know ? also in need of a techmarine backpack ( or parts to make one )
