    Strange that they don't know what is changed, git shows the commit history on every file to the exact line replaced.

    They know several hundred thousand of things have changed. It's picking out the malicious changes from the non-malicious ones that's the hard bit. If a magic "highlight bad-guy code" tool existed, everyone would already be using it to automatically scan all code check-ins.

    Plus, that's assuming the changelogs were not also compromised.
