News Google Gears moving to HTML 5

    Go Google. Nice to see at least one company attempting to be open with their tech, rather than closing everything off to 'corner the market' (which never happens). I think Google have the best long term strategy.

    Gears is great, I can still work on google docs even when my crappy t-mobile data connection bombs out for the third time in five minutes. In fact, calendar and mail also get a good bashing on both the mobile and lappy with gears.

    I hope it's a seamless transition, could really mess me up otherwise.

    HTML5 cheesecake. That'll start pushing Microsoft to step-up their game and further help to stamp out IE6.

    Ya I have been Beta the HTML 5 YouTube on Chrome and its really nice and man so much faster and just overall really nice.
