The way you have done that is simply amazing, i love your work, it raises the bar of modding and bondo work! i really want one of those cases now!
This is what modding is really about. Taking a boring beige case and making into something amazing. Good work so far. Wish you would hurry up and post some more updates
I have a request of the bondo god, could you do a guide? Like a pic showing how much you mix of each and how you get so much bondo applied before it clumps up like wet clay I'm trying a little bondo work and I can't get much more than a silver dollar sized lump applied before it gets pasty. If there is already a really good guide out there (with pics) can someone point me towards it?
that mesh is a pretty good idea.. I was trying to figure out where to get some and seeing this made me realize all the dead monitors I have around here - I've got piles of the stuff!! Your mod is really turning out spectacular!
hey jackjr, try mixing less hardener with it! i can get huge amounts out if i use small amounts of hardener (takes longer to harden - not hard to guess) so just use less and you'll be fine
hehe that was me that said my stuff turns to lumps quickly I tried putting less and it never hardened, maybe I didn't put enough that time. Thats why I asked for a pic, its easier to see ratios than have the can say 1/2 a tube to 1/2 a can.
Dreath1 the mixture varies depending on brand and type, i can't imagine it dosn't tell you on your can? or on the tube , mostly its around 50 to 1.... but you can up or down it 50% on that again to suit your needs....ive never herd of bondo going clumpy? i have a guide poster here. but its more about the mod rather then just bondo. have a look it may help. http://www.casemodgod.com/cmg/ftopict-4126.html
got a few hours tonight so i knocked over the fanbox, first off was to knock all the edges off using some 60g counter sink the holes, better to do this now before the bondo hits! cut some stips of flexable plastic, im using these as the guides an they will simply peel away @ the end.
Any updates? Are you going to spruce up the rad in the top? say chromed? this is going to look schweet! you posted @ the same time as me damn! that looks good!
Bondo time!!!! i want to add small blow hole lips to keep with the theme inside and out. First of 3 layers of bondo. starting to take shape after another bondo and rub. peel the plasitc guides away a qik rub on the iners redrill the screw holes finally some spray putty, so far so good will wet rub this in a few days-to a week, then another sprey with putty before paint.
:O amazing work defyant!!! p.s i added you to my msn contacts list, but am not sure if you accepted me (tff_frodo@hotmail.com) i love the cleanliness of your bondo work!
It never ends, everytime I read an update to your mods I become a slack-jawed yokel. I've only got one question this time, where'd you get spray putty? I've never seen that in any stores in town. It sounds like its sprayable bondo to get that smooth look, do I have the right idea? Nice walkthrough on that link, somehow I had never found that one. Judging from the pics I was putting waaay too much hardener in, it was a nice red color. *bonk* btw part 2 is down again.
