    Hmm this seems useful for at testing apps/software on a 'clean' machine without all the pre-requisites that VS2018 installs

    I shall be checking this out. I use virtualbox for throwaway sandbox VMs at the moment, but this seems like it would be somewhat simpler... assuming you can define what's included/installed in a "fresh" environment, i.e. much as you would snap/clone a base image

    EDIT: Or not...

    It will be at least 12 months before I'm brave enough for that.

    It would be nice to see this extended to a more generalised (non-throway) use-case. I'd love to be able to boot to a hypervisor and load a "work" VM, then leave everything 'running' and save that state to disc and load a 'gaming' VM with no background tasks running. No need for simultaneous use so both can have exclusive hardware acceleration. Sort of like dual-booting, but without needing to have two copies of Windows installed or needing to shut down the core OS.
