And yet many utterly fail to comprehend the basic idea that you can't go over 100%. *sigh*

If it helps differentiate the products you review better, that is a good thing.

Should've called it the "Goes up to 11" award. :)

just a little design comment. in the breakdow, do you really need to put the "%" symbol? do you really think people wouldn't understand if it lacks that? besides, it would be much more cleaner if it isn't there.

oh, and the "Extreme Ultra" could be renamed to "Chuck Norris Approved" or just "Chuck Norris". lol

That would be amusing. Unfortunately we'd have to pay Chuck Norris a shed load of royalties for using his name to endorse a product :(

Shouldnt it be xtreme? Well most manufacturers would have you believe that.

Will you be adding an Unreal Tournament/Killer Instinct-style announcers voice sound effect whenever you give out an extreme ultra award?

I like that you're going to show a breakdown of the scores.
However, I think "Crazy But Cool" sounds much better than "Extreme Ultra"

Love the new scoring system, a sensible evolution of the existing one - thanks guys!

However... sorry but I really don't like the new awards, they don't really have any meaning to me. Extreme Ultra...? What does that even mean...? It may make sense to you guys in the office, but I can't say I've ever seen it used on the site. It also comes across as overly immature.

bit-tech has established a reputable name and if you see somewhere advertising a product with the bit-tech 'Recommended' badge against it, that clearly makes sense. Will 'Extreme Ultra' have the same immediate recognition for people? I think not.

Premium Grade and Professional make sense for say, hardware reviews, but what does Premium Grade mean within bit-gamer?

Also, whilst I don't mind the design of the new awards, I don't like like the perspective used, it makes them hard to read.

    Greetings!

I find them too confusing. And the Speed, Design, Hardware and Value all have different scores?
Couldnt you just use Gamer, Hardcore and Extreme?

Where is the 'Disapproved' badge or the 'Extreme ultra disapproved'? It's as dumb as creating a social networking site and only giving people a "Like" option.

It's as dumb as creating a game and replacing the graphics options with "hardcore gamer" or "ultra hardcore extreme" or the lowly "gamer" setting. I mean what does it mean? It's meaningless.

I can see Extreme Ultra becoming a Bit-Tech community "in joke", a bit like "but can it run Crysis?" but more localised.

    "But is it Extreme Ultra?"
"That mod is definitely Extreme Ultra."
"Both graphics cards are amazing, but which one is Extreme Ultra?"

I did suggest a "Steaming Turd" award in the past. Strangely enough they didn't go for the idea. :thumb:

I guess they will rename this website Bit Tech Ultra or Bit Tech Extreme Ultra soon.

"Extreme Ultra" does not deserve to be given the "Approved" award.

Loose the "Ultra", please. While it may be an in-office joke, I have a feeling at the pit of my stomach that manufacturers and retailers will take it seriously.

    Extrme Ultra.

It really sucks....Rethink this one because its a joke of a rating and im sure you dont want to give that impression about something thats actually Immense.

Go back to Bit tech Excellence or something.

I too find the "Extreme Ultra" absolutely ridiculous. You sometimes complain about manufacturers naming schemes but maybe you should give your own a little more thought as well.
    This is just absurd.

    ^^ This ^^

People get linked to bit-tech from external sites, would you rather they find a childish "Extreme Ultra" award or a more professional "Excellence" award ?
