    say wasteland and i'm in, spent untold hours on the original and pre-ordered the 2nd soon as it became an actual thing.

    does the 3rd really need crowdfunding ? granted inxile don't wanna work with producers but if it was successful enough to get console ports of a turn based isometric RPG it's not pushed for cash or investors.

    Why risk capital on a project that may or may not succeed when you can go straight to your potential buyers?

    Going to publisher means giving up control and almost all of the profit, developing without funding means risking your personal wealth, assuming you have any. Crowdfunding minimises the risk and gives you an idea of demand before you've even started.

    I think people vastly over estimate the wealth of indy developers, even 'big' ones like InXile.
