TBH, thats the best use of Twitter I've seen yet.

Still doesnt make me want to sign up though..

My favourites so far:

"call 686 man shouts 'you're gorgeous' to woman"

"call 567 woman reporting somebody putting a video on her youtube site"

"call 510 complaint about homeless people in Wigan"

and

"call 466 complaint from member of the public that builders have turned up to complete work two months late"

Is keeping me entertained at least

I think it's a great exercise as a one off or as a series every now and then. More of a 'ok you guys complain that the police don't do anything, but seriously, look at the $%*! we have to deal with'

 

gmp24_1 is broken it seems. Other two work fine.

 

A refresh fixed it for me. Either that, or switch to the new-style Twitter.

They keep getting blocked for flooding on at least one account (or, as they put it, being put in Twitter jail), so there's swapping between the three.

 

There's also gmp24_4... Presumably due to API-limit abuse

 

I kept reading it as "gimp" when I first saw it. Following that logic, I can't wait for gmp24_7.

I hope you mean the minority of complainants in Greater Manchester, and not me!

 

Yay we get to see them fail at their jobs. It takes them 5hours to come collect a statement reporting an assult and 3months to investigate (they found the bloke and invited him down "for a chat" since too long had passed since the incident to arrest him) before handing it over for prossucution. If it takes them that long how the hell have they time to use twitter?

I can never make my mind up about wanting to join the police or not. I watch the cop shows, and reading this twitter you get to see all the scum and idiots that they have to deal with, I'm sure I'd love to drive around with the blues and twos on and be in the riot squad but I don't think I would want to deal with dross every work day o_o

 

Was talking to some police about this today and I think its great to see what strain they get put under so we can complain a bit less

 

Good idea but I wonder how many of these will be prank calls to get onto the Twitter feed!
