    Pull the other one, Microsoft, it's got bells on.

    Since Obsidian went back and fixed KotOR2, I actually managed to get off the station at the beginning this time before running into game-shattering bugs. Loved it. Not as good as KotOR (sadly) but still a fantastic non-canon Star Wars game (original trilogy and (some) extended universe only!). They got a lot of goodwill from me for that, so much time post release...

    I think saying 'will retain independence' is de rigueur for these sorts of things, only to be followed up 2-3 years latter by announcing how there's going to be a reorganisation.

    The re-organisation is never announced, there will be the odd press release thanking studio founder A or long time senior developer B for their years of service as they move on to new challenges. Usually a few months before a disastrous game release (I keep hearing a sort of snapping sound in the background, like some kind of stretchy rope).
