I was looking at a XJ600 on ebay, but then I found out it had a non-standard exhaust, so it would be a pain for me to insure.

It's not exactly a ZXR, but it'd do me if it wasn't for the exhaust. And it's at a dealer, so you have *some* recourse if it goes bang.

The last ZXR400 I saw was at my local yamaha dealer, it wasn't in great condition, yet they still wanted £2.3k for it. I have to say though, I love the air intakes. those alone are worth at least £2k.

Anyone else absolutely love these, especially in this (admittedly completely "marmite") colour scheme?

I recall once being out with my dad at Demon Tweeks in Wrexham - the store car park was sort of set down from the road on the inside of a bend. We were in the car park about to go and I heard one of these screaming down the road, the guy swept round the bend, knee down and promptly disappeared engine howling into the distance. That was the coolest thing ever as a ~10 year old :D

That's the 600 version isn't it? - the 750 had USD forks. I almost bought the 750SP in about 1998, but plumped for a 1996 Blade instead. Very very very nice bike.

I've said it once and I'll say it again; Harlem Shake can go die in a fire.

British insurances are a bit daft (and incomprehensible to me, used to Dutch and German insurances) :D

Yep, that's the 600! The 750 in red and white was similarly lovely

My Dad had a '98 RRX (navy blue/white/gold), his favourite bike to date :thumb:

Isn't German insurance a PITA too? I thought every part had to be TUV approved etc?

Yup they're pit bikes, it's a race series at matchams. 140cc , 10 inch rims and a hell of a lot of fun. At £40 for the day much cheaper than a track day

That just looks like a normal bike with unusually small wheels. Or unusually massive everything else. Its a conspiracy...

    Guys

Looking for the best way to clean and wax / lube my bike chain

I am new to biking, only got my CBT and a CBF125, now the time has come when i think i need to give the chain a clean, it looks dirty and is sticky to touch, not sure if that is a problem

So i need some cleaning stuff etc, not wanting the most expensive stuff on the shelf just something that gets the job done and where to buy it?

    Thank you in advance :thumb:

Use degreaser - spray it on and leave it for a few mins, then wipe off all the gunk with a rag (repeat as many times as necessary until nice and clean). Wait a bit for any left over degreaser to evaporate off, then spray new grease onto the inside of the chain. It only needs a small amount all the way round, in other words, don't cake it on like a 15 year old boy with Lynx!

Cost for both lube and degreaser max £15. It will last a good while and is available from any bike shop.

20 min job max usually! About every 100-200 miles I degrease and re-lube mine :naughty:
