Coming next: new arches, sill trim, classic buckets, new engine and gearbox (998 manual), stainless bumpers/de-bumpered.

 

!!!! that *counts* 6 mini owners so far...maybe 7 if I've forgotton one, w00t!

"my" mini:

 

Bar the alloys, that was the car I learnt (and passed first time ) to drive in... LJ Small in Wolverhampton have a troupe of Yellow new minis, yeah so there not as cool as the old mini (want one when I have the money to fully do one up) but damn, the new mini are amazing to drive (lifestyle/comfort wise)...seriously don't slate them as a rip-off mini till you've driven one, imho the best small car/hatchback to drive excluding the price (driven: polo golf corsa micra 206 clio saxo (all mates seem to have a diff make hatchback..)

I wouldn't call them a rip-off...bar the basic shape I'd call them a completely different car . From what I've heard they're rather snoreworthy to drive in comparison to a real mini.... and they're ugly... and fat... hehehe

 

the new cooper S is an amazing car. It keeps the original go-kartiness (made up word there) that the original Mini's had.

 

still got beaten by a skoda diesel

there will enver be a new mini, only the bmw 1/2 series

 

Bottom line is real minis are cool and fake ones aint.

 

plus the twin cam engine owns the A-series one in the mini

 

Yeah but pissing out the rear hatch to travel by jet-propulsion would own the A Series.

The A Series isn't a bad engine considering that it's 50+ years old now.

 

Micra's will never be cool, whereas a mini is beyond cool

(I have experience of driving both and micra = snooooore)

And to quote some person off some driving show (forget which) when speaking on the BMW mini 'A better car than the original, but nowhere near as important.' hah.

I was never a big fan of the mini. I think it is just to small. Id rather have my truck, but then again I am an american. lol.

Had an argument with a lorry and lost.

Its actually my dads, been in the garage for over a year and acts as a table... 1985 i think... will see about a pic.. Needs new rubber mountings and possibly and engine mounting as well as a new set of tires (which are around here somewhere...)
