So if I buy the DLC at retail (thus making a mockery of the D part of the name), I won't have to mess around with GFWL on the PC version?
Any prices for the retail version yet?

I imagine the retail version will just be either an install that needs activating with GFWL, or a code that allows you to download through GFWL, tbh.

I had low expectations of GFWL when I reinstalled DoW2, but was easily able to reinstall my wargear packs (Once I noticed default view was local content, not entire history), I was expecting an ordeal but seemed to work surprisingly well.

If the 360 retail pack will be like the Oblivion: Shivering Isle retail pack it'll just be an install - no code and no need to activate over live (my cousin bought it as he was quite into Oblivion and didn't have broadband to dl the DLC).

If MS would get rid of the points system or at least make direct payment an option then I'd become a lot more interested in using their system.

I got back into FO3 and with the right mods (i.e turning off the stupid green filter they put on your vision, being able to repair weapons using junk) it becomes a lot more enjoyable. I want the extra content but don't want to go through the GFWL hoops so hopefully the retail versions will solve that problem for me.

I would love to add the DLC to my install of fallout 3 (bought on Steam). However, after a day and a half in total of trying to get GFWL working, I've given up. Massive fail. All I can do is get it to offer me stuff for Xbox, which I don't own.

I just hope those new mini expansions will be less of a pain to get running than the first one...

If it gets crammed onto a disc and sold like that I’ll buy it without hesitation. I'm not a big fan of the monstrosity that is GFWL.

The article mentions the PS3 GOTY edition will contain all the DLC (or just C in this case). I assume there will also be a similar version for the PC? Might be easier to just buy a GOTY edition then…

I'd really rather they had concentrated on getting the core game to run reliably on the PC before they started with all the DLC. I'm not going to get any of the add-ons until the game is stable on my system.

Reintroduce *living* aliens to the Fallout universe, perhaps. Just looted the crashed ship in FO3 myself!

Just turn it up to Very Hard. With a character above about level 10, anything less than the very hard setting is just far far too easy. Makes the game a fair bit more punishing (still easy, VH is what Medium should be).
