Dont know whether anyone has tried this in the past, but it looks useful... http://ninite.com/ hopefully be of use to someone
I've seen it being talked about... Doesn't look too bad does it. Will bookmark this. Saves storing out of date files etc Cheers +1 Rep
Looks very handy. I can see only one problem though. It says that the default install paths are chosen for you automatically. This would mean that I wouldn't want to use it, as all my apps go onto my D drive. If you could choose the install location when you run the ninite installer, then it'd be perfect.
I have just used it after formatting the gf's laptop, worked perfectly. But as Cerberus says it will only install to the c drive, which limits it to basc setups.
hmmm got a gripe with this. It wont let you choose where to install everything too which is no good for me as i have to install everything on a seperate partition
Seems like a great piece of kit, I think I'm going to give it ago later on my Netbook; I still haven't installed anything on the Windows 7 RC partition. That is a shame to hear, but I think for a lot of people this won't be a problem, lets just hope they are planning to add the ability to change the install position in future releases. EDIT: A friend reminded me of something; you could just edit your registry to change the default windows installation path. Obviously at your own risk.
Ah, that looks simple enough. Probs try that at some point. Just had a look in there on Win7, and there ProgramFilesDir, Program Files(x86 Dir, and ProgramW6432Dir. God knows what the W6432 one is for.
Your using a 64Bit copy of windows I would assume; if so then it is the second program files folder path. Programs Files / Programs Files (x86) ........ 64Bit ................ 32Bit ........
