Basically I decided to download steam and portal since its free. Downloaded fine, went to boot up portal and realised it had orientated itself 90 degrees anticlockwise, so what should be the top was in fact at the right hand side of the screen. I tried flipping it by pressing alt gr then arrows, but that only effected windows, not portal. Does anybody have any ideas?

What graphics card do you have? Is the problem apparent in any other games?

Very weird issue (I've never heard of it before, ever).

I think what the guys on the Steam forum are saying is to start at minimum res in windowed mode and then 'step up' the res to your required level. Then you switch to full screen and see what happens?!

    Cheers,

Im running it on a laptop, decent spec but nothing amazing, only reason I downloaded was that it was free and the specs looked quite friendly.
