Thanks for the help dncwalk :)

I had the sunbeam tool that broke after about 30 wires were sleeved. Been on staples ever since (more because the tools aren't available in India than being a miser :p)

I guess I'll order one of these when I start on the next project.

Oh, and most PSUs I sleeved required really strong (I-think-this-wire-will-snap) force to get the wires out of the connectors. :thumb:

Life put a kink in my plans over the past few days... But...

That is the first bracket for one of the rads. Worked on it today for a bit. Size is right, but might have an issue when bending due to the location of the bend. I'm going to call the place I got the metals from to see what they would want to put a 90 on a few of them instead of trying to bend them myself.

    Also.. RotoZips are fun :D

Sorry for the lack of updates. Life has thrown a few curve balls my way and turns out that March is going to be a busy month for me. I'll try and do what I can when I can. Besides.. I don't even have all my parts in yet :worried:

So.. a quick update. I managed to talk to the metal shop about bending my brackets. They said that I would be better off getting some new metal, having it bent, then cutting it. Right now as they are, there isn't really enough material on one side of the bend to make sure that the bend will be in the right spot. Least that is what was told to me. So I hit up the local hardware store over the weekend and picked up a few feet of angled aluminum. I'll be attaching the 16 inch pieces I cut to some rectangular pieces of the sheet so that I can mount in the chassis. When I'm able to do that part I'll post a pic of it to show what I'm talking about. I also grabbed some black and white electrical tape for when I do some sleeving. I'm not keen on voiding the warranty on the Corsair PSU so I will be using extension cables and only sleeving those. Now.. to what prompted this quick update...

    GOODIES!!!

Still got a few more parts to get and a few more things to assemble. I should be ordering the second 4GB RAM kit and 2 of the pumps later this month.

So.. I made some free time today. Got more than I expected done.

Started my day off making a four of these...

They are 16 inch long pieces of 1/16th aluminum angle. I used a self made template for my holes.

Next up, I made four of these plates. They are just some 2 1/2 x 9 in. pieces I cut from a large piece of scrap that I had for testing my bends.

Just had to drill some holes in them to mount attach them all together...

    [IMG] [IMG]

With that complete, I assembled the lower rad assembly...

    [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] [IMG]

    Now.. onto making another... :thumb:

Keep it coming as you have time. Life really does have a way of getting in the way of fun projects like this, doesn't it?

For the benefit of others, I found that exact same original molex tool at FrozenCPU (http://www.frozencpu.com/products/9...l_-_ATX_EPS_PCI-E.html?tl=g11c133s257#options) which can be had for a lot less. I ordered my sleeving from a Techflex distributor on Ebay, so I may pick up one of these tools for whenever I get to my next project.

Ok. Small update. I got the HDD cage in yesterday along with the dual 2.5 to 3.5 adapter. There was a problem though. The 2.5 adapter didn't fit the HDD cage I got. Had to drill some new holes and put the rubber mounts on in reverse.

I also noticed that the image host I chose to use has disabled hot linking due to a technical problem they are having. I'm going to try and get them all moved to a new location and edit all my posts with new links.

Edit: Ok. I fixed the image links.

It is still on going voigts. The housing crash finally hit my area and as of last week my wife and I were thinking that we were going to lose our home. We managed to get things straightened out for now but it has left me unmotivated and with lack of energy. Hopefully getting the video card in two weeks will change that. As far as anything current on the chassis, I need to get a few small pieces of angle again so that I can mount the optical drive. Getting it mounted in a way that is acceptable has been a challenge of sorts. I spent a while trying to find screws that would work and ended up using a bracket from a lappy to mount the drive in. The lappy bracket will be connected to some of the angle and put above the drive cage assembly. Trust me.. soon as I can sit myself down at my work desk and get it done I'll post pics.

Liking the kinda modular design. Although I would be very tempted to lift/shift the main case a bit more away from the cooling unit.. You know, not too much, just to have some clearly visible gaps all around.

Also where did you find the model of the MSI board? I have one around and wouldn't mind having it in sketchup as well :)

All I did was make a box that was the measurements of the mobo and then skinned it with an image of it from newegg. It works but isnt exact.

There will be a visible gap between the 2 sections. About a 1/4 inch gap.

Sorry to hear about your housing situation. I can see that taking major priority over a case build to say the least. I hope you guys do have it worked out for good. There's nothing like thinking you may lose your home to turn your life upside down.

I had subscribed to your thread, and noticed there had been no updates in a while so i figured i would give this a bump and get a situation check.

Yea.. I know it's been a long time. I'm posting this to provide closure on this project that I would have liked to have finished. Ended up losing the house. Had a few stress related health problems set me back as well. Then I hit a blowing point and lost my temper at work. I was promptly escorted from the building.

But.. I've relocated to a more stable position for my family and I... Got another job... And moved on. The materials I had gotten for Achos didn't make it through the situation though. I still have the hardware, blocks, and rads.. but at this point in life... My tastes have also changed.

I do have another project that I started/completed as part of some stress management therapy 4 months ago. It may get some more things done to it before long. I'm also picking up hardware for another build. Cheaper due to less income, but I couldn't stay away from modding/playing with things. It's calming to me. And with more time available, I don't see the new build taking too long to actually do once I get in the hardware.

While Achos is dead in the original design.. I may end up doing something with it later on. Can't be too sure these days.

For those that sub'ed, I'm sorry for not being able to complete the project. But priorities first ya know? I'm looking forward to starting a new thread in a few months for the new project, but I'm gonna sit on updates/pictures and such until I get to the last few steps.

See you guys then. I'm off to the hardware store to get a new caliper.. My measurements be off.:dremel:
