The third machine in my trilogy of terror:
    Black Rain
What will it be, what well we do? It will be small-bore H20 cooled (true dual-loop). Custom interior, both metal work and paint. A few mods to the outer-skin, but retain the case(s) clean design.. So we are talking about chrome-plate and custom-paint..Death and Destruction will be the running theme..
    the case:
I thought about the smaller PC-V1100, but it's interior lay-out is the same as the V1000. I have "been down that road". It would be more of the same, that's no-fun..
The size of the V2100 ( 24" deep 24" high) will be a joy after SG..
Enough: Lets look at some photos of the V2100 Plus:

Lian Li (over the last few months) as changed there V-series case(s) to the "silent" plus variant..Of which this is..
    The changes:
an extra 120mm fan and new duct-work for the other.
    the side-panel air intake.
and some sound absorbing material for the top and both side panels of the case..
This is good for air-cooled guys, but does me no-good at all. Infact, it limits what I can do with the side-window.. Lian Li as taken a step backwards with there "silent-plus" BS: (IMO)..
The good-news (for me) Hank at Performance-PCs
has the "old-school" V2100 side panel in-stock. I have one on "in-route"..It will allow me a free-hand in side panel window-design..
    That is it Guys..!!
I have been (and am) on vacation this week. Another update tomorrow....

Love the look of the case. I was trying to work out what the hole was on the top back right.

    Cleaning House:

    Thanks Guys, one and all..
@ SIMSY: the LL V-series case(s) have thick side panels (about 3.5mm) Alu. A side panel for this case has a weight of 4 lbs (1.8 kilograms)..The front door is also made from the thick-Alu..It's a nice soild case..
Lets get to work. There is a lot of "junk" in this case that needs to go. I spend about 4-5 hours drilling out pop-rivets, Cleaning House:

I ended up with two piles. The good:

    and the bad:

I also have more new boxes:
    the Plextor is a PX-716AL 16X slot-load DVD drive..
the other, well it says on the box :hehe:
I quickly took both apart (well, actually only removed the cover of the PSU) and did a bit of prep-sanding:
I will drop this stuff off at my chrome guy tomorrow..
I have yet to build a machine without a chrome plated DVD drive (my trademark)..
The PCP&C units come from the factory sleeved in black, but I am going with something a little different:

The sleeve color is called "carbon" (the heatshrink is std. black) It's a relatively new color in the TechFlex line. Something a little different..Change is good..
That will be my project for tomorrow, get the unit "sleeved-up"..PCP&C units have a number of white Molex plugs that need to be replaced as well..
That is it for today..I have (even) more new gear to show you...
But I need a Beer and a break from typing..

    Looks insanely awesome.

Just wondering, since the "good" pile doesn't have the hard drive cages, I assume you're doing something about the drives to be in the 5.25?

Also, I like your choice on the 1kw.

And, my guess on the small bore, would be a cuplex XT, followed by about 2.5 billion twinplex blocks, an aquagraFX / grATI or two, aquadrive, the signature aquatube, aquastream, and a VFD aquaero.

I'll be keeping an eye on this one too :) That carbon sleeving looks pretty cool... and, of course, so does the nekkid v2100!

I don't suppose that the v2100 has one of those rear airflow-director things for the back fan, does it? I managed to completely mutilate mine moving my case around  and can't seem to find a replacement anywhere.

a very interesting case to start with :). i was looking for a nice lian-li case for my next project and i thought to go for a V1000 like you did with black narcissus but no shop had them stocked in Israel. the only thing i found was close enough is V1200 which has the same meshed exhaust hole in the side panel. anyway good luck with this 1, i trust your skills, this is gonna turn out great

1KW, is that a hint as to what you'll be doing for power consumption?

    Radiators and Fans:

Performance PCs stock them. The v2100 is slotted to accept one, but is not included.
Finished off the cable sleeve and heatshrink on the PSU:

    a monster of a unit:
    Radiators, Fans and Rheobus:
    more boxes:
a pair of Innovatek dual 120's
    [IMG]
These are all Alu-radiators including the frame/shroud. Once polished, they should look nice..
    Fans:
Evercool AL12025's my favorite fan! The specs are OK (80CFM @ 35db), more important is there Alu-body. Once again, with some polishing... :thumb:

    grills/guards:
    stock, powder coated black.
    The Rheobus:
This is a kit from the boys at FrozenCPU
4-channel (20 watts each) dual color leds.
The only problem for me are the knobs.
    Boring. My answer:
8-32 pike/spike nuts drilled to accept the shaft of the controller.
    knobs with attitude, a bad-attitude:
Thats it for today. I still have more stuff to show you tomorow. Some "case jewelry"..
