I had a set of these done blue for my build but now got some new ram on the way that already has ideal heatsinks.

It came with the latest firmware but i followed this guide to do all the tweaks. Im now running in ummm AHCI mode and write speeds are higher than what G.skill said it should be.




Gotta say the biggest thing im happy with is start up and shut down times is pretty fast now. :001_huh:

Been along time getting this back on track which is mainly due to my getting the hardware running ghetto style... But now thats all sorted ima try get this going again.

Today i had a nice delivery from a acrylic company with all thats needed to finish that side of the build.


First is the new false floor thats mirrored to reflect the light back up into the case and also show off the shiny koolance goodness. The rad should is kinda pressing down on it at the moment so looks bent but wont be in final build and the mirror has got protective film on if anyone's wondering why its blue.










Going to be making a start on the roof res over the next few days.


As the whole of the front of the case is been taken up by my rad im having to re located the hdds. OS drive will sit here with the storage one above it.

Fingerprints anyone?





This is the start of the roof. Im using 8mm clear as a base for the res and to allow a view down into the case.

Cut to a rough size i marked the front ready for cutting.






Roughly cut with a 4" grinder and filed down alittle. For the final build i will flame polish the edges so it looks like glass.

Nice tech, I never knew that the GTZ had a clear top option, should look great. The plexi roof looks great, can't wait to see it mounted.

Update 12th August.

New ram fitted. Looks alot better than the last stuff and clocked straight to 2000mhz on stock voltage. Not sure if its stable yet though

 

Nice RAM, fits the mod perfectly.

 

Yah that was the main reason i went with it. Also for 4.5Ghz i would have been limited by ram speed unless i dropped the speed alot.

 

what are your temps ?

Joined and my temps are Idle/LinX load 52c/87c so im not going any higher until iv got some water hooked up

 

What's that power supply? Looks like a DA700. I so badly want one of those - too bad Silverstone doesn't really have their act together in India
