So... this is not as much a project log but some pictures of the mod i Just Now finished...

This is the Drawerstand im modding...

This is how the table in my livingroom looked like 5min after i started...

This is the drawer... thats where the backplate is goint to be...

    It´s starting to shape up...

Here´s the SPEEDY computer... Amd K6-2 300mhz 192mb ram and a voodoo3 card... I´m also going to put my Haupauge WinTV PCI in there for Tv-in-bedroom...

My trusty Dremel :dremel: not to good for cutting plastic thou... but thats all I had avaliable at the moment...

And here´s a pic with the mobotray in place...

That´s where the PSU´s going to be and the mobo in place...

    The PSU-hole all done...

This is WAY to messy... going to fix that later...

The start for the plate where I´m going to put one of the harddrives the fdd and the cdr on... you can se the traces for the holes for the screws...

The holes all done but from the other side...

    The drives in place...

    Cables

    a sideview...

The GHETTO-POWAH-BUTTON!!! :duh: the ugly hole did have a purpouse in the beginning... but now it´s just ugly...

    CABLEFUN :D
Here it´s all done... just plugging it in...

    Here´s the fun cabling...

The drawer closed... it´s dead silent this way... perfect for tv...

HATE that monitor thou... some strange error makes it look that way... but if i put pressure on the sides it gets better but when i release it it´s all FUBAR again...

    I think it´s pretty neat...

    The drives work well too...

    Waddya think ?

Eagle >> I would have to dissagree... your drawer looks pretty neat... with leads, switches, no ugly holes in the front...

I would say you win :D

oh, didn't notice the hole. Why did you do that?

I'm considering making an extension cable so I can start the computer from somewhere else, but it's an AT power supply and I don't want to spend money on relays and stuff. The power button is the fourth from here so I almost have open the whole drawer to start the computer :(

    Hi Eaglespirit,

welcome to the forums. Just a point for you - posting pics of your own mods in someone elses project thread isn't allowed. Post links if you like but no pics please. This is raxxo's project thread. Do feel free to start your own thread - in modding if it's finished shots, or in project logs if you can post a work-in-progress type story of how you did your drawer-mod. I'm sure people here would love to see it.

    Nice Mod raxxo. :thumb: :)

You could build in the cd, HDD and floppy in another box on top of the other... Like to floors or something... And make a plexi window in your hole with some LED's maybe...

How would that make the Computer Invisible?
It would sort of kill the whole idea...

When you pull the drawer out, to put a CD or disk into your drives, the cd, HDD, and disk is visible. But you could maybe cover it with anoter box... damn this was hard to explain... So you only can see the front of the cd and disk sticking out... But on the pictures it looks a little to tight to do that. but you could try... Anyways its a cool mod when the drivers are visible too...
