Love that film I'll add: Tremors The Crow NightWatch (I'm reading the book at the moment) DayWatch Iron Man Secret Window
There's a sequel to Boondock Saints? Also, my recommendations (probably repeats, but so be it) District 9 Moon Star Trek (yes, the new one) Nightwatch Daywatch Mini series: Taken - just watched it again, and it's still good. Well typical. I was aiming for a long and epic list, but I had a brain fart and can't come up with any recent titles.
Certainly not new but if you like war films there is always the greats like "Das Boot" if you've never seen it. A few random films I like and haven't seen when scanning the thread which I would recommend: Ghost in the shell (the orginal film, an anime but a damn good one) The Sky Crawlers (another anime but has some brillant aerial combat scenes) The Last Bullet (war film set in the Pacific about an Austrailian and Japanese snipers) The Bunker (horror/war film, just forgive the accents of the British cast playing Germans) There's more but work equals the mind is occupied with stuff besides alot of excellent films have already been listed!
Reading off a random selection: 3:10 to Yuma - First good western i've seen in a long time 28 days later (and 28 weeks later) - quite scary in some parts, but utterly fantastic film (weeks isn't quite as good) Fifth Element - If for some reason you haven't seen this, go and see it. NOW. (also the same director as leon) Silence of the lambs - As above. Moon - Just an amazing film no country for old men Requiem for a dream - WARNING: Depressing as hell, very good film though Stardust - It is a kids film, but still a fun watch (same as fifth element really) sunshine - another danny boyle film, very very good. Assassination of Jesse James - Quite slow, very very pretty film though Watchmen - One of the best "superhero" films made to date Zombieland - Funny as hell.
Oh yes there is. Excuse me if I'm wrong but I quickly read it somewhere a couple of weeks ago. They had the movie released in the USA but only a limited amount of shows in limited amount of cinemas (somewhat similar to MJ's, This Is It) but I guess even more exclusive. Here's the link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1300851/ I'm not sure whether or not the movie is able to top the first one, since the first one, in my opinion, was amazing. (maybe that's because I like movies with a religious flavour to it). Still curious to see if it's going to hit Europe next year. (I guess it will). To add another movie to this topic: "Alive" is a pretty decent movie too. It's based on a true story: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uruguayan_Air_Force_Flight_571 Quite cool
You should put all these movies in your first post if you can be arsed makes it easier for me to see what i havent seen as well lol
You probably won't relate to my 'B' movie queue from the 1950s and 1960s like: When Worlds Collide, The originals of War of the Worlds and Day the Earth Stood Still. Rocketship XM, First Men in the Moon, They Came from Outer Space, Attack of the Flying Saucers, etc /edit And Attack of the 50 Foot Woman.
Yeah I must see tomorrow if I could be arsed. Right now I'm way too hammered to make a list. Yeah I'm afraid the "real" movies from that period look bad enough to me :/ Suppose it's just the way I am, I like the polish of new films, but those must also have a good storyline and actors. That's also what makes finding the films so darn hard. Plenty of unseen classics out there that I just can't watch.
All this talk of good movies is bad for me lol... I just sat down to watch Carlitos Way again. It's a 2hr 20Minute show! . I forgot how good it was though, haven't seen it in ages
Precision, the Remake with Christian Bales and Russel Crowe, because the 1957 original version is totaly Crappy
On my To_Watch list this XMas: Gran Turino Inglorious Basterds (big Tarantino fan...) 9 (the Tim Burton-produced 2009 one) Zombie Strippers (b-grade love coming through) Redbelt
A couple of Bruce Cambell films: Evil Dead Evil Dead 2: dead by Dawn Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness Buba Hotep My name is Bruce
Evil Dead films are great fun and Bubba Hotep is one of fave Bruce Campbell starring films! Thought of a few more films that seen not to be present (probably as every one must have seen them by now but as always worth a re-watch): Blade Runner (forget which cut is the supposed best version) Alien (the orginal and best) Clerks & Clerks II (some of the best movie conversations I cna ever remember in those two)
Watched Disney Pixar's "UP" with my wife last night. It was great! Also, 'There will be blood" is a good one
