List is being redone to update it for Q1 of 2010 - The Enermax Revolution earned it's rightful place on the last list and will be returning

Has anyone seen the new OcUK Modular PSUs? 650W for about £43 seems pretty decent but just wondering what everyones thoughts are on them.

Junk - probably EZCool or some other notorius brand... e-tailers will stick their name on the front of unknown products to mask the fact that the brand is unheard of

Back working on it again, decided to scrap the 1001+ section cos it will likely be rarely used (and because I'm too lazy :lol) Anyone got opinions on antec Truepower, Neopower etc... series?

Custom pc done a review of the antec truepower new 650w (new is important) and gave it a premium grade award for good efficiency, extremely stable, great value and having good voltages.

Couldn't agree with you more - I got the exact same psu for my dual xeon W5580 system, with a 5870 GPU and it handles it fine. And at least it doesn't look the same as all the other PSU's.

It actually looks quite cool - very stylish. But it's looks are wasted, sitting buried in the bottom compartment of my P180B...

Well, it's my first post here.

Gotta say that my HX750 is one hell of a PSU. Though the X-750 is better, I couldn't get a hold on one and I settled for the cheaper HX750 (was getting it for ~ $150) which has been great.

    Running a 5970 + PII 965 C3 @ 3.8 easily. :D

proud owner of an ocz modxtream 600w psu.Bought it after the last psu test in custom pc.It was actually the 500w that got good reviews but as i could 600w at the time thats the one i got.Read my sig, this is the first pc i have built and if you look at the parts they have all received good reviews in the mag.I'd just finished building it when they ran the feature on how to build your own pc.All the components are pretty bullet proof as ive not managed to fry anything yet.

    Hi guys,

I know there is a lot of good info on here but I'm utterly confused over what PSU to get! I have thinking of getting Corsair 550W VX Series PSU.

I need a new PSU to replace my generic, noisy, no internal fan 500w which seems to cope fine under load but it does seem rather crappy. The lack of internal fan is causing come cooling problems too.

    I have AMD Phenom x4 955 BE
    Nvidia 8800GT
    2 x 2GB DDR3
    2 x DVDR
    2 x 80mm case fans

I will want to upgrade the graphics card in a year or so and I do play games but I won't be overclocking at all!

From what I can work out that PSU I've found will be fine, I just want a little reassurance :)

Also at nearly £70 its quite a lot, I know you should not buy a cheap PSU but if you can suggest a cheaper one that's also good that would be great!

    Any advice would be great

    Thanks

Best thing I can see for around that price range would be the Seasonic M12II 600

As you all know the list has been under construction for ages but sometime very soon I'll get round to finishing it as well as adding those Antecs

By the way, Corsair TX750 here, running for almost 2 years now, even survived a power surge that borked the motherboard; good stuff (although I've never loaded it more than 300W :worried:)

I was trhinking we should make a similar thread for case fans since it's so hard to tell what's a good fan from statistics alone.
