I have computer that was recently rebuilt, and all my data is on an old IDE drive, i bought two SATA drives: an 80gb, and a 140gb. I plan on mirroring the data from the IDE to one of the newer drives. But windows doesn't recognise the two new drives. but the BIOs on the other hand does.

    the Motherboard is:
    K8VGM-V
    VIA k8M890 + VT8237A Chipset Based

    the processor is:AMD Athlon 64 X2
    Dual-Core

and i'm running: XP Professional SP2

Don't make two threads on the forum. There is simply no need for it and it is really annoying.

Have you tried to see if the system can pick up the discs in Disc Management? Try formatting the discs in there (type 'compmgmt.msc' in the 'Run' box, then click 'Disc Management').

No need to be harsh about it. Some people do it, some people don't. The amount of knowledge people carry on this forum varies greatly, and I have no way of telling whether you have strong or weak knowledge in computers.

Try reinstalling your motherboard's SATA controller drivers.

I indeed had something to say...

Why could you not just post these things right away, in your first post? There would have been a lot less hassle.
