ok, so I cant get ADSL or Cable or ANYTHING like that so how about satellite internet? Anyone use it here? Comments? Cheers
well ive heard a lot - i know someone who has it already and uses 64k ISDN for the upload, but he gets up to 2mb/sec downloads! some providers put a bandwidth limit of 1gb a day, which considering you can get 2mb/sec downloads is nothing i'll give you his contact on MSN if you want?
it's called something with blue, and it's one and a half times as expensive as ADSL, I've read somewhere. The bad new is it isn't available yet for 2004 I think
hmmm Interesting... The price would get quite hefty after all €15 per month + ISP charges.. My m8 had a similair service in New Zealand - it was capped to 50KB p/s down and used a 56k line to upload. He got a ping of around 350 for most NZ servers! Which is quite surprising for a satellite signal that was routed through Australia. Well that site wouldn't let me see many details, it says 2MB per second - but is there a daily/monthly limit? I couldn't find anything. Give em a ring. I dunno how much 5 euros is in Sterling. Farewell
Aha. http://www.europeonline.com/whatandhow/howitworks.html Well off-line scheduled downloads - What can I say. Crap. Extremely.
I know theres an english based company thats lining up to release Satellite links for upload/download. Theyve been triling it for a few months down near london or summat... I had a look and they claimed that for £60 a month, you would have unlimited transfer at 2mbps... Problem is I can't remember what they were called...
well ive used sat before and it wuz pretty crappy. when it rained it wuz down. when it wuz cloudy it wuz down. when a lil wind blew trees infront of it it wuz down. when it wuz up i could d/l like 50kb/sec but upload wuz like 5kb/sec so all my online games sucked cause of the slow upload.
