Why would you need a touchpad if you've already got 2 thumbsticks below it?

I'd like to see the continuous release of good quality games rather than yet another version of the PSP. It is not an all singing all dancing multimedia tool:
    - it has a slow processor and limited ram
    - it is cumbersome and requires two hands at all times
    - its storage capacity is limited to a single card which has a max retail capacity of 8GB last time I looked

I love my PSP but I really want some decent games for it...face facts Sony, its a portable games console not a PPC/PDA treat it as such and stop pursuing functionality deadends.

That keyboard looks absolutely awful, and uncomfortable.

I was going to say that the keyboard looks like a direct rip-off of the Xbox version.

Except, wait, no it isn't! It mounts to the top of the controller rather than the bottom :eeek:
Which, as liratheal so rightly pointed out, looks very uncomfortable to use.

    Great innovation, Sony :p

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick. The PSP revision won't just include a new screen and a mic. It'll be modified in a way that'll try and shake DaX et al from making homebrew enabled firmwares for it. The fact you can play downloaded PSP ISO's on a HEN firmware is what's hurting the PSP, as it's relatively easy to do.

It's similar to when people discovered you could run a burned ISO on a PS by using good timing and some blu-tack. Sony kept revising it to make it more difficult to bypass the region protection.

I thought you could connect a USB keyboard, so what's the point in it?

You can, I use a wireless keyboard with mine, it does seem a bit pointless.

Probably appealling to those who don't know that PC keyboards work the PS3 (yes madness I know but they still exist lol). Doesn't look comfortable to use but after holding my PS3 controller in the sort of position where the keyboard would be it doesn't seem that bad... guess it'll do its job for short messages. Not something I'd buy though.

Ok, so it doesn't look comfy to use, woohoo. Thanks for your opinion on that, but I'm going to have to say that Sony would not invest buckoos of cash into something that wasn't comfortable; they have focus groups for this very reason, y'know. Also, must suck to have to purchase another peripheral for your 360 just to type better vs. the PS3 which you can just unplug your PC's USB wired/wireless keyboard and just use it. Yet another thing PS3 has that's better.

Honestly, I'm not trying to start a flame war here, but that came off as completely biased and ignorant especially considering you've never used it as well as your comment about how it's "just another thing that 360 has that's better" as if you are always saying it or something....

For example, if you're using the PS3's internet browser, it probably allows the user to type and move the cursor without having to physically move hands every time they wanted to do either one of the functions. Again, it may not apply to you, but it's there for a reason. I honestly will never buy one of these as that would completely defeat the purpose of me just using my wireless Logitech M+K. Good question though.

I pity those that honestly buy this peripheral. Of course, just because we know it supports any USB M+K, that doesn't mean everyone else does. Something Sony should display in bigger text on the box imo.

Please explain another way of doing it that wouldn't go against MS's way. Honestly, it's like saying MS stole from Sony's DualShock design by having a D-pad, 2 Joypads and rumble all within the controller, yet that's the only way to make a controller, just like this is (most likely) the only way to economically make an add-on keyboard peripheral for the PS3 that can also be externally powered while staying wireless.

Don't get me wrong. This is pretty much an exact replica of MS's, but it does have some extra functionality. It's just that I don't know how Sony could've made it any other way (economically). Considering you can use any USB M+K I find this peripheral pointless and Sony should just advertise that imo, but whatever....

So you very very picky then? Because there are loads of games on the PSP and there are alot of great games depending on what type of game you like. That argument does not hold anymore.

Well it is over 3 years old and only a hand held. You want more power then get a laptop.

Duh!! Oh course it requires 2 hands. If you want to watch porn and **** at the same time then Id suggest using a PC. You need 2 hands to hold and play any portable. The Ds requires 2 hands and is even more cumbersone trying to hold it with one hand and use that same hand to control the dpad while using your second hand to hold a stylus. A game boy uses 2 hands. Tell me of a portable console that doesnt.

Why would you need capacity for more than one card at one time??? Just buy the largest, and 8GB is alot of storage. A game boy had no storage capacity at all. A DS does if you use one of the cartriges with a SD card. But then you cant use your memory card and have a game in at the same time. Tell me of a Portable console that has more than one card slot please.

A bit excessive on the postings aren't we? Five in a row is a bit much.
