Is this Compro card as good as I'll get for under £50? Needs to be DVB-T and nothing else besides with price and ease-of-use the main issues for me. Or also just seen the Hauppauge Nova-T 500. This seems a better option. Am I right in thinking that this will work with a normal RF aerial? Thanks.
If you can find another £3, Hauppauge Win-TV-Nova TD500 is worth a look. Twin DVB-T Tuners, no analogue and Remote included. Free delivery at eBuyer also. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/113946 lol...you edited whilst I was typing! Yes, will work with a standard co-ax jack.
don't wanna hijack this thread, but just have a couple of quick questions... 1) what aerial does one need for TV cards? 2) does one need a TV license to use these? Cheers as always
1. Standard RF Coax jacks, the same as you would plug into your Freeview box / TV. 2. Yes, absolutely.
If you only need digital I'd avoid the T750F - having bought one myself I was disappointed to fingd that it's a hybrid analogue/digital card with ONE digital tuner, not two as advertised. It may do FM/video-in and have various other analogue video inputs/outputs but dual-digital cards are a better shout. I switched to the E700, Compro's dual digital card. It uses PCI-E x1 whereas the Hauppauge Nova T500 is PCI - the reason I bought the former and avoided the latter. Apart from the interface and bundled software they both do the same... I guess it depends on which mobo slots you have free as to which is the better card (the Compro is £56 at Ebuyer).
