just a question (not complaining): why is this only open to UK readers? is it 'cause of the logistics involved in an international competition?
Disappointed I can't enter, but maybe next time. good luck to all the brits though.

Dolby UK are working with us on this survey and as such the prizes only cover the UK. Of course please do fill in the survey as all feedback is welcome.

Hiren, i dont see the logic in your reasoning. Either all input is valued and you reward all inputters (ohh yeah, new word!), or you only want UK info and reward UK only.

I understand this being a british site and all, but i don't really see what the disadvantages would be to open up competitions and surveys like this to non-UK residents.

I'll enter anyway, and good luck to you lucky brits. :)

To bad it's UK only...Seems we miss out on some nice competitions from time to time...
Next weekend I'm in the UK for a LAN, what if I enter it there? Technicly speaking I could be a UK reader then...:hehe:

It's not hirens logic, it's the person who gives the prizes who decides what to do with them.

I've entered, bad luck to all of you because I want to win!

    Arrrggh,

UK only - I like the "international" flavour of bit-tech could you not at least offer some kind of prize for non-uk posters who win, but give the prize to the 2nd place "UK winner"?
Even a "custom colour" forum name would be nice....

^ What Doug said. Most promotion (competition / surveys etc) these days is done on a regional level. We always try to push our partners to be as open as possible, but unfortunately it's not always going to be case.

We do try our best though!

Now get back on the phone and arrange the next competition we can moan about

if its due to warranty constraints or other issues, you could suggest they simply note that any warranties etc normally implied in the UK are not applicable if awarded to someone in a different country/region.

Given how much of the bit-tech community is international, it would make sense to open it up to the rest of us.

I'd like to say good luck.

I'd like to, but I won't, because I want the win.

    :)
