win2k for the professional, and XP for the people who like big graphics and lovely pictures....

just as said in lock stock:

    guns for show
    knives for a pro....

win2k: stable, fast, good support, clean format....

I use both XP Pro and 2000 Pro and i have to say that 2000 wins hands down in many ways especially stability and mouse acceleration. Although some games do have problems like GTA3 at first but since the patch that has been running fine aswell.

    I would go with 2000 Pro + SP2 without a doubt. :)

Probably I would say 98 (98SE) would be best for a gaming PC, but it dosen't stand long uptimes.

Probably 2000 if you want a really realiable box. XP is just crap and it dosen't run GTA3 properly either :(

    :D Good luck man

I am not sure if your Computer is good enough for it.. I dont know that much about it ..

    But i hava a Duron 1000mhz , 128Ram, 16Mb Video

and it works like a charm

    I had them all .. 98 , Me , 2K ... and I have to say ...
I'll go for XP PRO anytime, anywhere !

    Never crashed during game's

but ... RTCW sometimes crashes while changing map's mutliplaying ... I dunno if its RTCW ... multiplayer .. or my XP .. ?

    OK a couple of things.

ME does also have a different Shutdown dialog.

XP runs fine on my PII 400 w/ 256mb of SDRAM, although not for long periods. My main machine only has 256mb of DDR-RAM, the uptime for mine has been 6 days, then it got a bit annoyed.

I think 98 or ME. ME does boot faster.

EDIT: How about Win95c. Stable, i've never had many crashes with it. Also got about 5 of um, if you want 1 i'll seel it you, it'll come witha license!
