i saw that on gamesindustry.biz, was wondering if you lot noticed. I'd love to, but haven't learnt c+ to a good standard yet
It's a real shame that games programmers don't get paid well. Perhaps games would be better if they did. I'd love to do it, and could, but the pay is just too low.
from where i come from, java programmers developing software for enterprize integrated systems are getting paid half the money they give
Doesn't (most) game developing have Deadlines? I don't do deadlines. Conveniently, I'm good enough at my job so that they don't matter. But if it all goes belly up, and we miss them, I don't bat an eyelid. Mind you, I guess I could have worked on Spore????
cheers- don't know how i missed that, i'm normally a thorough reader, shouldn't have gone out last night
What a great opportunity - if only I was a graduate with some decent knowledge of C++... Introversion are such a bunch of legends, imagine creating some more Uplink cheesecake...
If you want to make money out of games, you need to own the company. I have worked for other devs, and I've done my own thing. Doing my own thing pays much better. Its harder work though
