    Hi people

I want to create a squeezebox player lookalike with my Raspberry Pi. I am on the lookout for a 5-9/10" touchscreen either driven directly from USB, or with a VGA/DVI/HDMi input and controlled by the USB port.

I have found some MiMo ones, but they are extremely expensive and I thought that there gotta be something cheaper.

As low as possible really. It doesn't have to be multitouch or anything fancy.

OK, what do you consider too expensive? You have to give us some parameters here.

Jeez Nexxo I was just on the lookout to see if anyone had a quick link to an eBay seller or something like that. It was more of a "Does anyone have a quick link?" not "Guys. I NEEED THIS NAOW" request.
The MiMo USB screens are 100£ but I guess anything below 50£'s would be much preferred.

    *Sigh*

Please don't take it the wrong way but it really isn't that important. I have searched on both Google and eBay and it was only if people had the magical link to a cheap website. It was very nice of you to help Nexxo but it really wasn't necessary.

Just so you know, the MiMo screens are utter crap.

Never had anything but trouble with My MiMo 740 on all operating systems I've tried it with.
    Software is utter tripe too.

I was going to use one in a case mod a while ago, and due to all of these problems it now resides down the back of my radiator. Damned thing.

Take a look at this 7" USB monitor we reviews from DoubleSight. Super quality.

It's about 100 bucks new. Here's a tip. Call them and ask for a refurbished. The one i reviewed I bought for $50 bucks refurbished.

Guys, don't forget, the USB displays use the cpu as a gpu. How well do you think this is going to work with just a 700mhz proc?

Suggest you ditch the raspberry pi for this, unless your desperate to get into it, buy a joggler off ebay and load on the latest modded operating system. Comes with squeezebox installed and various other usefull stuff, bit easier than messing about with an os etc for rpi. If you dont know what a joggler is, thanks to o2's failed marketing campaign you can get yourself a 7" touchscreen photoframe for not a lot on fleabay and install various os's to use it for pretty much anything.

    Just a suggestion =D

Also remember to keep in mind that the raspberryPI only has HDMI and composite (the yellow RCA plug) for video output. That and you will have to find drivers specifically compiled for the ARM microprocessor.
