Whoops - I've had to update the article there. Turns out I mis-read the source and it hasn't been confirmed if it's a sequel or prequel. Sorry for the confusion!

Typically, most games assume the 'good' ending. :p
I'm guessing this assumes you saved all the little sisters.
Or perhaps that you saved all but one.

On another note, what if it's chronologically a sequel but unrelated to the plot of the first?

    EDIT:
    s'cool :)

If Big Sisters are the new Big Daddy then I assume it's a sequal. Unless they went with the creation of Rapture and it's opening day, then you get caught in it's downfall.

Pretty cool viral site that's to do with BS2 if anyone fancies a bit of indulgence in the fiction:

...just finished Fallout3 last week (well the main storyline anyway) so it's time to install Bioshock (yes I still haven't played it till now)

Maybe I can finish it in time for the Sequel (or Prequel or whatever) to arrive.

I really hope it is a prequel set in the last days of Rapture's decay.

I can only hope that they open up the levels a bit this time. Frankly I wasn't all that impressed by BioShock (could be because I had finished a run through of Deus Ex prior to playing it). Even though all the 360 players were yelling about it's awesomeness from the rooftops.

The art style was refreshing, but the enemy design and behavior made it too much of a lol fest for me. Weird looking people running at me with lead pipes vs. an arm full of bees.

    The WTF meter friggin esploded....

Meh, I bought Bioshock on steam when it had fallen as low as €20 and I still felt cheated - Totally overhyped by the console crowd who've never experienced Deus Ex and System Shock.
    Can't say that I'm excited about a sequel/prequel.

I'm looking forward to it. You can't have Bioshock without Rapture City.

That would be like taking the Halo Worlds from the Halo Series.

Looking good just really hoping its a prequel giving us a better idea about Rapture and expanding the story, loved the story of the first, they better not ruin it.

But all judgements shall be held until i play the acctual game.

I bought BioShock when it was 5.00 on Steam, played for like a few hours and never went back, visually great but game play was horrible so I hope that BS2 will be better

I bought Bioshock a couple of weeks and am totally hooked on it. I love the scenery and the story. Sure a lot of things don't make much sense, like countless recordings from everybody in the city lying around everywhere but then again it's still a game so we should expect a few things to not be as real so that the story and gameplay will work better.

I can't wait for Bioshock 2 and I hope it's a sequel (if it's not then it probably won't be called Bioshock 2 though) but I also fancy the thought of a prequel based on the last days of Rapture's decay as perplekks45 said.
