A bit of both. Sometimes I'll fire up some games and won't move for the next 18 hours. Sometimes I'll fire it up and have 18 minutes.
bit of both for me as well really. Some days I'll play less than 20 minutes as I'll be out chasing lasers or something similar like that. However, on otherdays (like the day I got overlord) I've played from Friday night until Sunday Evening with breaks for takeaways, beers, toilet functions and the odd few hours power nap while my mates took over for a while.
It's very rare I'd play a game for half an hour or less. I'm more likely to sit down to one on Saturday morning and have had enough by tea time. I'm currently ploughing through TR:Anniversary and Bioshock - I think once they're done I'll definately be onto World in Conflict and I can honestly see that game taking lion-sized chunks of time away from me. CoH was bad enough
Haha I can imagine... "Porny" I play mostly CSS and Halo at the moment. No internet games or anything like that so by your definition Hardcore although I see myself as far from hardcore.
I'd probably say i'm a bit of both as well, we all get into them a bit to much sometimes and start ranting "OMFG n00bs". But I certainly grew up with computer games, I remember when I was about 5 and my uncle gave me his old Atari, I forget the model it was the one with the switches. Such awesome games and still are classics!
imo, your definitions are completely retarded. Should be more like: You aren't a gamer, you're just bored - Internet Games Casual Gamer - Pc or console games, play when you feel like it, play for fun, non competitive and time isn't really a factor. You can still be a Casual Gamer if you bum a game for 5+ hours. Hardcore/Competitive Gamer - Either buy a **** load of games and complete them all OR play online to win, try all the time, competitive, in a clan/guild and possibly go to LANS Going by this this would stop pretty must EVERYONE saying "a bit of both" as that's pretty much pointless information. I would call myself a Casual Gamer as i don't play competitively anymore and just play for fun with friends, whether that be bumming Halo 2 or w/e
There are times when its quite enjoyable to simply fire up a game thats a bit of mindless fun, I tend to use consoles for that kind of distraction (X-Box & Wii) and I use my PC for "serious" stuff.
I play a lot of games over a week, but I just can't be arsed with the mentality of many hardcore gamers. I want to have fun and not be competing all the time so I'd define myself as casual - in it for the entertainment and not stress. I never play FPS online anymore, as the juveniles that seem to make up the numbers just don't make it fun. However I WOULD say that I play certain games in a more full-on manner, but they tend to be more singleplayer experiences. Stuff like the Football Manager games and WoW for example absorb me utterly.
Well then by this definition then I am a hardcore gamer. I go to LANs at the local Internet Cafe once a month, sometimes more. And I own an ton of games for my PC and my PS3, Wii and 360 as well. On that note who is going to be in line for Halo 3 tonight?
That doesn't stop "bit of both" at all, I like to play games for fun, but I also like to play games competitively from time to time.
Hardcore. I was at the point in wow where I played 10+ hours a day for over a year. Finally quit a few months ago and ended up playing CS:S, now it's crysis beta.
