Painting started A long time ago, in a far, far Ukraine this log were started… Now I want to see the turret assembled shortly, so left the UPS-base. Swivel lid frame Lid front panel Swivel lid assembled Lid fixed on frame in close position: Opened position After numerous “filling-gringing”cycles, some parts are ready for painting. Prime paint and base colors are spray paints. DVD-box two color (in process, with mask): Swivel lid base color: After red mask removing: Both swivel lid and DVD-box: Another side of lid, paper mask, wetted: Chipped paint imitation by the kitchen salt: Painting: Mask removed, you can see the wet surface: Cleaned surface: Next time I’ve planned to apply some effects – aging, graze, rust.
Painting continued... Mockingbird and Pranja, thank you. Glad to back to the modders community. Weathering effects make with acrylic paints. No aerograph used – only “hand tools” such as matches, toothpicks, ear cotton sticks, bath sponge and kitchen cleansers. And here is the result: Well, now it doesn’t look like a piece of fresh painted plastic
Painting still continued... It’s time to apply some weathering effects to the case swivel lid: View from another side: Exhaust grille: Both swivel lid and DVD-box:
Awesome paintwork. I have often wondered how some paint effects are created, love the table salt trick!
