This is first time to have opportunity to modify laptop. "Mod Master Challenge" event has brought us 5 moders and gave us the task to modify the laptop Acer PREDATOR Helios 500. More information about the event you have here:

My idea was originally based on making an "exoskeleton". The laptop is phenomenally designed and the only way to improve it is in the form of armor that will strengthen its work and improve the good looks. With the help of 3D software and the existing file showing the 3D model of the PREDATOR HELISO 500 laptop started its realization!

Exoskeleton has a task to strengthen the laptop's external look and to give it some new functions.

Inspired by the PREDATOR movie, I decided to implement some of the details in the design, and in the end I made this:

Now I go to realize this in real life :)

This is special metal foam for cooling, you can't find in this moment in the store.

Painting the parts is over, next is the work on the implementation of electronics and final assembly...

And lightweight preparation for assembly everything, it remains to prepare the electronics and put it in, I also work on preparations for the implementation of the infinite mirror at the place of the logo :)

That tiny screen and metal sponge is really cool and really original :) At the beginning, I can't even imagine what you would modify on the laptop at all. But now it's much clearer. I'm really interested will the metal sponge improve cooling.

Thank you my friend, I try to make something different and maybe I done. This is first time to anyone do something like that and for me personally is a big challenge. About "sponge", this is metal foam I used only in aestetic but in the future can used lake radiators fins with copper heatsinc inside.

    Almost done :D

Did a double take, thought you were cutting with the laptop turned on.. mistook the coloured keys for being illuminated.

Definitely a nice market, haven't seen too much laptop modding. Nice work.
