    I rather use the darkened plexi than the clear version.:thumb:

    Matt's_Mods - It takes about 25 hours - with the smallest filer I have - to do the best work at detais.

    Here are some little updates;
    This week I get the support package from Kingston Technology. 2x90Gb HyperX 3K SSDs and 2x4Gb HyperX Beast memory modules. :clap:
    Next week I'll continue the building of the SSD holder ( I started to work on) and will do thing about the coverplate in top of the PSU section. :dremel:
    When everything goes right they will be finished next week.

    -WORKFLOW-

    Day 8: 2012.11.27. / Task: To do removing default fan grills
    I removed all the case fan's safety grilles to improve airflow. The same will happen to the PSU. There will be only the dust filter in the way of fresh air.

    Day 9: 2012.11.28. / Task: SSD mounting frame
    The Kingston Technology supports my project with two 90Gb HyperX 3K SSDs and my task is to make a mounting frame to these SSDs.
    I used 1,5mm thick aluminum sheets. After some precise cuts I folded them to perfectly match from the mainboard-tray to the front of the case.
    I didn't make the finished item yet but here are some photos of the process;

    Day 10: 2012.12.10. / Task: SSD mounting frame pt.2
    After a little break I have free time to do a little modding. So I continued the SSD frame.

    Day 11: 2012.12.13. / Task: SSD holder frame #3
    This day was for the SSD frame too. It will be 3 pieces together. Previously I did the first part then I made the second and third pieces today. The smallest part will be in the center of the frame and It will be the real holder of the SSDs. I attach plexiglass rods to this part. These plexiglass bars created with multitool (as you can see in the pictures). These little plexis and the metal parts will be glued together with epoxy.
    In the end I drilled holes to install the SSDs. Finished photos of the frame soon. :)

    Day 12: 2012.12.14. / Task: PSU coverplate
    I made the cover for the PSU and the hider of the sleevings. It is a 1.5mm thick aluminum sheet cutted then folded to exactly fit on the plexirod frameing. These plexi pieces were cutted with laser after precise calculations and designing to fit tightly and be a tough skeleton to the coverplate.

    Day 13: 2012.12.20. / Task: ODD coverplate
    Sadly the previously showed plexiglas framing was happened to be weak because it cracked. So it get a bit modificated - need some reinforcements on the weak points. While waiting for the new version the coverplate will be waiting to be finished.

    But the work must go on and I had to do something today too. :)
    I wanted to do a little work on the ODD frame's outer side. I removed it from the case then I cutted off the tiny 'bumps' i'didnt need to use anymore - to get a smooth surface. As you can see there is a line shaped embosslike something on the side of the frame I didn't removed instead of I use some XPS-like material to make the surface smooth. On top of these there will be an aluminum sheet to get a real smooth surface. This aluminum sheet will be custom painted - soon.

    Here's a little teaser:
    The plans are done for the paintjob and the masks (stencils) are already done too. Last I wrote about the ODD coverplate so I show you the plan for its' painting.

    Followed your first Gymkhana mod and really liked it. You were actually the one who introduced me to the wonderful DC Shoes videos of Ken Block - and now I'm also going to get a pair of DC Shoes Ken Block "Gatsby 2" in Black/Green Limestone colour. All thanks to you, hehe.

    I love the front grill - was worth the 25 hours, I think. And nice routing/sinking of the sidepanel window - I thought about getting one of those Dremel stands, but I guess a good router bit in my drill press will be able to do the same job.

    Sissilisko - Thank You!

    Nutman - Thanks Nutman! In fact its not a dedicated router stand but it worked well so your drillstand will be okay too I think but you need a proper router-bit. :)

    -WORKFLOW-

    Day 15: 2013.01.05. / Task: PSU sleeving
    Them plexiglas framing is done but before finishing the PSU coverplate I decided to do some cable sleevings in the weekend.
    Before disassembling the connectors I marked the pins for an easier assembling when the sleevings are finished.
    As you can see I used staples from a stapler for removing the pins - its funny but the work with them were easier than the work with the dedicated pin removing toolkit. :D
    There was luck because the holes on the connectors are big enough to connect the shrinked and sleeved cables (they get little boldy) through them. I have to remove the U-channel from the edge of the hole but the hole wasn't so sharp that I didn't need to file/sand them.

    Day 16: 2013.01.06. / Task: PSU sleeving #2
    Today I have some sleeving on the CPU-Power cables and some fine tuning like removing the sticker from the top of the PSU. The finished power supply get wicked and I hope you like it. :)
