i think i just killed a mobo

    hi guys i changed the Clock speed to 200MHz and saved and exited and now it wont boot and i nothinking comes up on screen so i can't get in to the bios to change it back. i rest the CMOS but still nothing.

    can anyone help me out to what to do next :duh: :duh:

    try bootin on one stick of mem, try taking out gfx card then put it back in, or you could always remove the battery for 5 secs

    Are you getting a display? For example, does your monitor kick on during 'bootup'?
    Do you have any boot disks?
    Is the hard drive functioning properly?

    I just went through this sort of problem the other day.

    umm.. you tried the Cmos jumper/button? :duh:

    yup rest the Cmos by the jumper and i allso took the batt out.

    i'v taken it all apart left it for a bit then tryed again
    no hard drivs on at this time as i don't get any thing on screen. ie boot info or anything.

    the monitor light comes on which means there is stuff going to it but its blank..
    do you think i might of killed the CMOS :jawdrop:

    I think what he means is,

    "Is the jumper back in its right place?"

    check the diagram as this has happened to me before

    its a MSI K7N2G which is't really on there site which sucks :duh:

    Sounds like you've corrupt your BIOS. You need to find someone with an MSI K7N2G who is willing to hotflash your chip. The best option is to RMA it, if it's out of warranty you're out of luck i'm afraid :(

    thats the one but i only have 2 IDE and the heatsink is fanluss and no SATA but other than that yeah lol

    and can't get in to bois so can't change clock speed

    So when you saved your settings in the bois and restarted, did the pc make a long beep? or was thier nothing?

    Well if its nothing then something is probably dead :( Since the comp will ushally beeps if the settings arent correct or unbootable.

    So you might wanna rma or get a new board OR see if you can test your other componants on another mobo.

    yer i had the same prob with the abit board it happend after flashing the bios, then i got syptoms your saying:(
