    Be interesting to see if the new i7 parts hurt sales of X299 chips. Most people will not need more than 6c/12t for a good few years, but want an actual upgrade from the same 4c/8t configuration Intel has been locking us to for the past few generations...

    It's amazing what competition does, isn't it? Personally I'd still go for a Ryzen, just so we can still have some competition. They need it and we consumers do too, especially after the Vega pricing screw up (shame on you AMD). Nvidia is still very far ahead of AMD, but Intel is within reach (mostly because they've been holding back).

    Yeah, it's funny - Nvidia have got used to AMD not being able to compete, so have been slowly sailing on their own wind, keeping a distance they feel comfortable with.

    Intel, on the other hand, were caught with their pants down after they spent the past few years giving consumers a shafting.
