    I must also say that ever since Anime went full moe overdrive, I started loosing interest for most of it, and I find it really demotivating to search for new Anime to watch nowadays. I really miss the mild fanservice as depicted in Rumiko Takahashi's work, for example.

    I hear you, however, GITS as a manga is completely different from the movies and the SAC TV series, and I think they are pretty good. The recent character redesign made me cringe though.

    I'd also add stuff made by Masaki Kajishima and/or Hiroki Hayashi, like Tenchi Muyo!, Photon and El-Hazard (my favorite of all time). Rurouni Kenshin is also pretty good as a manga, and Season 1 and 2 of the TV series.

    And to the FLCL craziness I add, Excel Saga.
