    Overpriced.

Other than that, nothing much to complain about.

Hopefully price drop will happen on the GTX280 soon so I can do a step-up of my 260 and get the 280 for not much more :D

I was able to grab a BFG Tech 280 GTX OC for ~350 CAN including all taxes and shipping last week due to massive instant rebates and mail in rebates!!

    Pretty sweet deal!

Nice! Hopefully they will be sticking with 55nm now, and make strong push ahead. They've been playing around with 55nm for mid/high cards while their top of the lines have been bruteforcing it with the older process.

On the other hand, my eVGA GTX280 Superclocked arrived on my doorstep yesterday afternoon for $191USD after my 20$ evga rebate. So I'm happy either way.

The GTX285 is a useless product. Considering the lack of power savings and the fact that it still slots in the exact same place as the GTX280 performance-wise (between the GTX260/HD 4870 and the HD 4870X2), this product does nothing more than save NVIDIA a little money and is a complete waste for consumers.

That seems to summarize nVidia's general strategy for the past 3 years.

if it's 10% faster for the same price as 280, and 280 drops 10% in price.... well... thats called progress.....

... and then the 280 disappears from the market. Like I said, the GTX285 is a pointless product for consumers.

Yes, but the Flagships are now the 4870x2 and the 295.
The 4870x2 can be had for 320£ + vat, the 285 for 285 + vat, thats only 35£ less.
