Case Mod - In Progress PLXTC [update: 110910 -the first LEDs]

yeah totally correct!! (if everything works like we plan it )


After getting back from Hamburg from the recognizer Photo Shooting....we wanted to make a bit of progress on this case....but as usually ....the telephone rings....and the Film Crew from Plexiglas.tv wanted to start making Videos of us building this case...so that they can film parts of the building process for one of their next shows....as you can imagine we couldn´t make real progress while filming....but before and after the videoshooting we made a little bit of progress....

First we sanded the 2 Plexiglas Rings so that we got a flat side on which we can glue them to a Plexiglas Frame which we already cutted out. On the Plexiglas Frame we will mount the PSU.

Beside that we made the first few Front Parts ....so that we can hopefully assemble them in the next days....

 

That blows that they had to come in like that. Oh well, still lookin awesome. When will we see the next update?

(and i hope that we make more progress tomorrow)

because in the last 2 days we can make anything on the case because of some birthday celebrations (the third brother and his wife )....but yesterday a big package with the rest of the hardware arrives.....so we wanted to send out a big THANK YOU to MSI for the fast and excellent support!!!!!

Beside that we also found a name ....it will be called PLXTC

Sweet hardware. Why did you get the 5830 instead of the 5850? They only differ in price about 50 - 70$

 

oh it was just a spontaneous idea because its build out of PLeXi

oh we didn´t ask for a special modell, so i think they just send what they have in the office

in the last few days we continued the building process, while cutting out the next parts for the mechanic. After cutting / sanding/ polishing them we glued the motor mounting plate into the tube so that we could measure out how long the plexi arms had to be....then we finally made a few test pieces just to see if it will fit in like we hope....

 

Okay. So it doesn't mean anything? I thought it was short for something...

whether intentional or not i saw plextasy as in plexiglass ecstasy, and i'm sure that's just what is gonna come of this project

in the last days we continued with the Front of the Case...so we had to mount all those sheds we already prepared in the grey/white side parts.....beside that we also mounted the motor in the tube so that it is easier to test the mechanical part....

 

As awesome as this project is, I really must ask. WHERE did you find an unmolested dragon?

 

I've got one sitting right next to me! Slightly different, but a dragon nonetheless.

that´s our big secret (it was a "gift" from a friend)

in the last days we continued the assembly of the outer parts....after glueing in all sheds to the Front, we continued the building process with the Top Parts....for that we had to cut out 2 Grills out of smoke/grey plexiglas....and after cutting them out we first polished all edges because it´s much easier to do that before we attached them to their side parts.....

For the Front we also made 2 small stripes out of red mirror Plexiglas which will be placed behind the Front sheds....

 

This Case Is Rather Sick I Think I Might Have To Find Were U Live And Steal It For My Self Good Job Keep Up The Work

in the last days we put together the last outer parts of the case so that we could assemble it for a quick test....i think today we´re will do some work on the inside.....the mechanics or the backside of the case....(so much things to do.....)
