I hate the original wire-organization (or the lack of one) of the P180 so I'll possibly do something to my case when I'll get something else to put my rig while modding. Hopefully I'll get something soon 8)

    The junction box-thing'a'dilly-strategy looks nice!

    To answer an older question...
For a normal Molex connector, yes, it should be yellow, black, black, red. Those are the standard colors, for the twelve volt, ground, ground, and five volt wires. That cable, however, doesn't follow the standard. Instead of the red wire being a five volt line, it's another ground. The video card power plug only needs twelve volt and ground, so the five volt line isn't needed at all.

The colors on the cable should be yellow, black, black, not yellow, black, red. They used the wrong color of wire.

That said, this is looking good. The P180 looks good in carbon fiber.

    Thanks a bunch :D

Cool dude. Please show pics when you do!!

Thanks dude! And I can't wait either. *Makes a note not to rush things

Thanks Dann. I eventually found out what you said so I feel rest assured. And the wire I made has about 0.1ohm resistance so according to theory that wire can handle 120A @ 12V. I = V/R and that is 12/0.1=120, I think that's correct.

But yeah. Still haven't got around to test the cable! :( Sadly.

was wondering if this mod is still alive, glad it is :D
the color looks great without the flash, it makes it look grey. and I can imagine how hard is it to cover the entire part equally with paint when spraying, though with paintgun is much easier and I can't complain. the goal is the more times you pass over the part the better it is covered, though your paint job looks great without flash (in reality) keep it up :thumb:

That's a good looking P180, I may have to invest in one myself one of these days :thumb:

I'll have to say that the case has some cool design features to it, glad to see one modded. Also the flat black paint looks awesome, brings the theme together nicely.

    Keep on modding.

    Thanks for the compliments though.

    Thanks for the advice Janne

    Here's a little update

So today I started lengthening the cables. Man it is sucking :( I absolutely hate it

    The victim

    High Precision Tools Required

Off with you. (Camera focused in the wrong place. My bad)

I even caught an appetite just looking at the innards of the PSU

    All the sleeving off

So an Idea hit me like a brick today. Instead of worrying if I have the right wire. I just stripped my busted PSU's wire. (A Thumbsup for the one who can guess what brand it was)

So I collected all the wires I'll be needing

This is what the hose will look like. However there will be two more

And after a lot of soldering the 20 pin is complete. Still to do is 2 x 4 Pins and a molex. And then heatshrinking...testing...and some other stuff I forgot

The wires are twice as long now...w00t

Shame the metal panels on this case are pretty much impossible to remove.. I tried with the one inside the door, but it's so thin it just bends of you try to rip it off. Antec has used way too much glue :( It would be easy to make all kinds of film-mods to the P180 if you could just remove the aluminums from the panels and wrap them.

Good work, the PSU seems to require some vacuum-cleaning.
