    Wait, all Sony offers as compensation for the outage is a 10% percent discount? Surely their cut is bigger than ten percent. They want you to give them your money and call that compensation?

    Sony apologise by giving everyone an opportunity to spend more money?

    Sony lost revenue, Sony was made a mockery of, Sony now need to pay customers as an apology for some idiots who want to cause misery?

    Are Sony not as much of an victim in this as their own customers?

    In an ideal world Lizard Squad should pay for it but the world isn't ideal.

    No they don't. But they should own up to their mistake and take responsibility instead of acting as if they are doing their customers a favor with this discount - when in fact they will be making money from this sale.

    Sony should either offer a real sale with bigger discounts or no sale at all. Not this laughingstock of a sale which they will point at and say: "See, wee offered you a huge discount. Every past mistake's forgotten right?"

    Just my opinion as someone who doesn't own any PSN devices.

    Surely the 5 day extensions to PS Plus memberships is more than enough for their customers who couldn't access services during the outage. They don't need to be giving any additional discounts as they have nothing to apologise for... the matter was completely out of their hands.

    Aterius Gmork;
    What mistake are they exactly owning up to and taking responsibility for, the mistake of being an unfortunate target of a malicious group utilising a DDoS attack?

    They are giving some PSN days back and a 10% discount if you want to partake, no one is forcing you to use it, they probably didn't need to do anything, don't recall signing an SLA, so even the extra days are a bonus, Sky don't give me anything back when their Fibre drops out for the evening.....Grrrr.

    There's nothing being handed out by Microsoft when Live went down over Christmas.
